Teams

Our Teams

Lake Washington Premier Football Club (LWPFC) has 16 boys and girls teams from U10 to U19. Our teams play in Washington Premier League (WPL) from Copa, through Classic, to the top level WPL Super League.

Boys Teams

LWPFC has a unique approach to team composition and player recruitment. We do not set up multiple teams at age but concentrate on smaller team numbers and highly personalized developmental progress for players based on the goal of individual technical excellence. Squad sizes are smaller than larger clubs because we want to maximize the interaction between the player and the coaches. Coaches need to be able to concentrate on their team so we only assign a coach one team, and each head coach has one assistant coach and a team manager.

Boys U10 to U19

LWPFC has a balance between boys teams and girls teams with a roughly 50/50 split. Our boys teams have 2 coaches per team, a team manager and a dedicated goalkeeping coach. Goalkeepers are equipped by the club for specialist equipment, such as padded pants, jerseys and professional fitted gloves. Each team trains for 2 sessions per week, all year round, and from U12 we only put 2 teams on a full sized turf field for training, which allows the coaches to train tactically for wide, expansive, possession-based soccer.

Coaches

LWPFC has well-educated, licensed and dedicated coaches. The club provides coaching training and pays for all coaches to gain their USSF National Licenses. We provide additional training for goalkeer coaches and diploma and certificate training for selected coaches that go on to become directors of coaching.

Each team has 2 dedicated coaches that stay with the team from U9 to U19. This allows the coaches to build intimate knowlledge of the players and create a team bond that has a significant impact on the collective team performance on the field.

Tournaments

LWPFC takes a flexible approach to tournaments and empower our coaches and players to determine where and when they want to compete. Unique to LWPFC we include 2 tournaments in the annual fees, which makes seasonal planning easier for coaches and cost effective for parents. Late Spring through the Summer months are tournament season and most teams play more than 2 tournaments, especially our senior teams that are involved in National and Regional competition.
